Suprisingly there has been a lot of snowfall in the middle of november. Additionally, it was rather cold and so very nice snow and slope conditions have been created in Flumserberge. The weather forecasts for saturday the 17th was good and therefore
it was a good idea to grab the newly bought carving skis out of the cellar and travel to the mountains for skiing. I purchased a Rail'n'Snow ticket and caught the train to Unterterzen from where one can ride the cable railway departing right from next to the train station.
Quickly we reached up into the mountains to Tannenboden. Snowy mountains and forests showed their precious view. White cliffs some descended deep into the Walensee bathed into light from a clear blue sky without a single cloud!
Once I arrived at Tannenboden I took the cable railway to Maschgenkamm. The sun was shining strongly and it grew quite warm. When I reached the top it was time to enjoy the great view: Leist, Wissmeilen, Spitzmeilen, Weisstannental, ...
But then it was time to start skiing. Quickly stepped on the skis and there we went! Snow and slope quality was just as the weather conditions: perfect!
After a couple of hours I became hungry. Since I didn't want to eat in the superduper highperformance restaurant I went down to the Alp Panüöl. This small spot only is known by insiders. In a friendly, quiet and confortable atmosphere a farmer offers simple but tasty and warm meals. The place is protected well from wind and there is a nice view towards the Spitzmeilen-Weisstannental area.
Once having eaten and recovered a bit it was back to the slope for more skiing. Around three o'clock the lack of skiing for the last couple years kicked in and I grew tired. Since the sun also was about to go down I decided to call it a day and went back - it was an awesome day in the snow paradise!
